Two Volleyball Programs Earn NJCAA Rankings
CHARLOTTE, Nc. – Two Region 20 volleyball programs are in the national ranking's conversation following strong finishes in the 2023 season and continued success to open 2024. After qualifying for the Division II national tournament a season ago, Harford Community College earned a preseason ranking of 24 to open their Fall campaign. The Fighting Owls currently boast a record of 4-0 and have yet to drop a set, sweeping all four of their opponents this season. They return to action on September 8 with a non-region match against Monroe University (6-2).
In Division III, perennial powerhouse Butler County Community College is ranked 12th after an undefeated start to the season. The Pioneers are currently 5-0 with a busy and challenging weekend ahead of them. Butler will play Cuyahoga Community College (3-3) and Lorain County Community College (2-4) on the road beginning on September 6.
Carroll Community College and Montgomery College have also started the year strong with 2-0 and 3-1 records respectively. Carroll picked up a division win over Howard and will play two more important games against Cecil College and Westmoreland County Community College in an upcoming tri-match. Meanwhile, Montgomery has defeated three of four non-Region opponents to begin their season, earning sweeps in all their victories.
