Region 20 Lands 13 on Men's Lacrosse All-America Teams
Charlotte, NC– Thirteen student-athletes across three Region 20 Men's Lacrosse programs have earned All-America honors for the 2024 season. Harford Community College, the 2024 National Champions, lead the way with seven All-America honorees. The Fighting Owls place five on the All-America First Team and two on the Second Team. National Runner-up CCBC Essex has five honorees with three first team honors and two second team honors. Anne Arundel Community College concludes the list with a second team honoree.
All but one of Harford's five first team honorees are freshmen. Midfielders Kohl Wesner, Carson Crawford (short-stick defensive midfielder), and Ryan Sweiderk (long-stick midfielder) are joined by defender Brayden Olstad and goalkeeper Alex Epple. Wesner and Sweiderk both took home national tournament awards earning Offensive and Defensive Player of the Tournament respectively. In early May, Crawford was recognized as the Region 20 Defensive Player of the Year.
A pair of sophomores make up the second team for Harford with short-stick defensive midfielder Cayden Collins and faceoff specialist Mark Durling. Epple is the only repeat honoree for Harford, and in Region 20, earning First Team in 2023.
The trio of Ben Nyberg, Owen Fasulka, and Bradley David earn first team honors for CCBC Essex. Nyberg, a freshman attackman, led the country with 62 goals scored this season. Fasulka earned All-Tournament team honors at the national tournament while David was named Region 20 Offensive Player of the Year.
Long-stick midfielder Austin Collins joins faceoff specialist Chris Evans on the All-America Second Team for CCBC Essex. Collins led the country in assists while Evans owned the most faceoff attempts and wins of the season.
Sophomore midfielder Sam Barrett from Anne Arundel also earns second team honors. Barrett tallied 35 goals and 13 assists for the Riverhawks.
The thirteen All-America recipients was the most by any region this season.
