March Players of the Month Announced

Congratulations to the Region 20 Players of the Month for March, 2026. The Region recognized nine student-athletes from seven member institutions.

Men's Lacrosse
Lukas Rozon, Fr., A, Howard
Rozon led the Dragons to wins over three ranked opponents and a 5-1 record overall for the month of March. He recorded at least four points in all six games, totaling 36 points on 20 goals and 16 assists. Rozon scored a hat trick and added an assist against then No. 1-ranked Harford, and had four points in wins against ranked teams Onondaga and Nassau.

Softball, Division I
Kayla Gist, So., 3B, Harford
Gist batted .450 and had an on-base percentage of .520 in March with a home run, two doubles and six RBI in seven games in March. The sure-handed, Hanover Township, Pa. native did not commit an error at the hot corner in 19 total chances.

Softball, Division II (co-winners)
Sklya Compton, So., CF, Potomac State
Compton provided a consistent threat both at the plate and on the basepaths for the Catamounts in March. She hit .533 with a 1.117 slugging percentage and 35 RBI. Compton cranked out 32 extra-base hits, of which 17 were home runs while drawing 11 walks. She recorded 14 games with two or more hits, and ended the month on a seven-game hit streak. On the basepaths, Compton was 12-12 in stolen base attempts.

Taylor Stapleford, Fr., P, Cecil
Stapleford recorded at least 12 strikeouts in all but one start in March, posting a 7-1 record and averaging 13.67 strikeouts per seven innings. She fanned 12 batters in her collegiate debut vs. Howard on March 5, and recorded a career-high 16 strikeouts against Allegany on March 28. Stapleford tossed a no-hitter against Hagerstown on March 21. In 50.2 innings pitched, she allowed 20 runs (16 earned) on 36 hits while striking out 96 and walking 20.

Baseball, Division I
Ben Christine, So., RHP, Harford
Christine had a dominant month of March, going 5-0 with four complete games, an 0.69 ERA, and an 0.62 WHIP. He struck out 47 while walking just eight in 26 innings pitched, averaging 16.27 K/9. Christine allowed just two hits and one earned run, striking out seven in a five-inning outing vs NJCAA DII No. 20 Mercer. He threw a mercy rule perfect game on March 15 against soon-to-be NCAA DII Lackawanna, where he struck out 11 of the 15 batters he faced.

Baseball, Division II
Sean Franzi, Fr., RF, Westmoreland
Franzi hit .475 in March, leading the Wolfpack to a 12-5 record in the month. He totaled 24 RBI on 19 hits in 15 games played while drawing 14 walks and striking out just seven times. Franzi slugged 1.000, recording 11 extra base hits including four home runs while crossing the plate 19 times. He was perfect in the outfield with 15 putouts and an assist.

Women's Outdoor Track & Field
Deborah Oyetunde, So., CCBC Essex
Oyetunde finished second in the 100m (12.72s) and first in the 200m (26.01s) at Salisbury on March 8th. At Widener on March 28-29, she finished seventh in the 200 with a season-best time of 25.67s, and sixth in the 100m with a season-best 12.31s. Oyetunde is currently ranked 33rd in 100m and 36th in 200m (NJCAA DI).

Men's Outdoor Track & Field
Jeremiah Smith, Fr., CCBC Essex
Smith won the 110m hurdles with a school record time of 15.19s and was first in the triple jump (13.05m) at the Salisbury meet on March 8. At Widener on March 28-29, Smith finished third in the 110m hurdles with a season-best time of 15.07s, cutting over 0.5s from the last meet. He is currently ranked 13th in 110m hurdles and 27th in triple jump (NJCAA DI).

Men's Golf
Peyton Cramer, So, Hagerstown
Cramer finished first in two of three Region matches in March. He placed second in the season opener at So. Maryland on March 19 at 13-over. At AACC on March 26, Cramer was three-under to take top individual honors, and he finished one-over to take the top spot again at the Carroll match on March 30.
