Penn Highlands Brice Clinger Perfect on the Lanes
Greensburg, PA– January 24 marked the third bowling event of the 2025 season with Westmoreland County Community College hosting at Main Bowling Center. Around a dozen bowlers from Penn Highlands, Westmoreland County, and Community College of Allegheny County met for the competition.
Entering the event leading all bowlers in high game, points won, and high series, freshman Brice Clinger from Penn Highlands improved his lead and made history by bowling the Black Bears first ever perfect game. Clinger, with a two-handed approach, saw his 12th shot hook back into the pocket with cheers coming from the spectators. With the ten pin still standing, the cheers turning to groans until a messenger pin slid across the deck to take out the pin for the 300-clinching strike. The groans quickly shifted back to cheers with Clinger fist pumping to celebrate the achievement.
The Penn Highlands bowler leads the WPCC with 15 points over 12 games bowled. He is averaging 239 with a season high three-game series of 774.
Teammate Brady Huss is next best with a 740 series. Aside from Clinger, three others have eclipsed 250 with Huss at 259 and Westmoreland's Andrew Marcej and Larry Weaver bowling 256 and 254 respectively. CCAC's Jacob Feiling leads his team with a 248 high game.
With history made, Clinger and Penn Highlands will long remember his perfection. Bowling resumes on January 31st at Coral Lanes & Lounge in West Mifflin, PA. Postseason play begins February 7 with the WPCC Tournament and Region 20 Tournament on February 14.
